TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE

•  Motherplants works with each customer to determine the plants and planting method that is right for them. Please call or email us for a quote.

•  Motherplants sells wholesale and retail.  Please contact us for pricing, shipping, and availability information.

New Customers:

 

•  New customers must pay 30% down payment to confirm the first order for orders over $400. Down payment is required least one week prior to the desired shipment date

 

 

•  On subsequent orders, all bills are due at delivery or when a customer picks up their order. Plants that are shipped are due at net in 30 days.  2% interest per month (24% year) will be added to any bills left unpaid after 30 days.

All Orders:

•  We accept Cash, Check, or Money Order in US dollars.

•  Orders must be placed at least one week prior to the pick up or shipping date.

 

•  Customers failing to meet payment terms will be placed on pre-paid terms for all future orders.

•  The buyer agrees that in the event of default by nonpayment of an overdue account, they shall be liable for collection charges including reasonable attorney fees.

•  Any claims made of shortages or errors must be reported within 1 week of receipt of goods. Please inspect your shipment immediately upon arrival. All plant material sold by Motherplants must be unpacked on the day of arrival. 

•  Availability is subject to change without notice.

•  Any returned material will be subject to a 25% handling charge.

•  A $60 fee will be charged in addition to any bank fees for all returned checks.

CUSTOM ORDERS

We have many customers who have custom growing needs. We're happy to work with you on yours!

Terms vary depending on the number and variety of plants needed, the scheduled completion date and the resale value of the order in the event of cancellation. An advance, nonrefundable deposit of one half the order's value will be required. Please call to request a custom grow form or to discuss in person.

Custom grown plants will be held at the net agreed upon price for up to 30 days after scheduled date of delivery or pickup. After that time a 10% holding fee will be assessed. At 90 days past due, plants will become the property of Motherplants, unless other arrangements have been made.

SHIPPING

Customer Pick Up

Feel free to come to our nursery and pick up your order. We will gladly assist you with any loading or other requirements when you come to the nursery. Please finalize your pick-up date at least one week in advance of arrival. We will have your order waiting for you.

 

Shipments

Large shipments are trucked to the delivery site. We charge a standard fee of $2/mile delivery from the nursery. We estimate shipping at www.mapquest.com using your delivery address.

 

If you live in Ithaca , NY or within 10 miles of Motherplants you will get one free delivery of plants to your job site. Contact us for more information.

 

 

 

Mail Services

We will ship Express, Overnight, 2 Day or Ground with the carrier of your choice.

 

Cuttings are shipped in boxes with cooling packs in the summer.

 

There is a $4/box charge included in shipping costs for flats. Many of our plants can be shipped 3 to a box. Plants are boxed in specially-designed boxes to protect the plants during shipping. 

 

We ship Monday through Wednesday.  We will do some express mailing on Thursdays when this is required. Be sure to unpack your plants immediately upon arrival!

International Shipping

International shipment is possible, simply allow extra time for shipment. Any inspection fees will be paid by the buyer.

Important Notes About Weather & Handling

We aim to ship your plants to you on cooler, drier days, but this is not always possible. When conditions are excessively hot or wet, we may call you to discuss an alternate shipping date. We, as much as you, desire the plants to arrive in peak condition.

 

Unfortunately, sometimes carriers fail to take proper care with plants. We ship them in special containers that should prevent damage from occurring. Unfortunately we cannot be responsible for damage that occurs during shipping. Please notify us immediately if damaged plants arrive at your job site.

Flats of plants should be unpacked immediately upon arrival and placed in an area with good sunlight and ventilation. They should be watered periodically as long as they remain in their flats. We will provide you with specific care guidelines as required. Don't hesitate to contact us with your plant care questions!

Plant cuttings should be kept cool until they are planted. Ideally they will misted with water upon arrival and then refrigerated. They should be planted as soon as possible.

Motherplants will not be responsible for damage due to mishandling and improper storage.
